Somni's Engine Weapons Tier List
Every weapon from Black Knife to Sledger, ranked by job, with charges and repair rules.
This page ranks every weapon confirmed in Somni’s Engine from Miraheze wiki data and gameplay footage. Gear is what you press; perks are what tick. The gear hub has the hotbar logic. This page has the numbers.
Weapons drop from Scavenge boxes and zone shops. Some are repairable; some are not. The description text is the rule — if it says CAN NEVER BE REPAIRED, it means that. A broken Ferro-Mace in a doorway is a dead slot.
How we read weapon data
Three columns matter:
- Damage — the raw hit number. Note that armor and Resist reduce final damage taken.
- Uses / Ammo — how many swings or rounds before the weapon is empty.
- Special — repair rule, flare, reflect, or daze effect.
Electrical damage (Ether, battery-type attacks) ignores armor in the current beta build.
Melee weapons
| Weapon | Rating | Damage | Uses | Special | Repairable |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sledger | ★★★★★ | 80 + Daze | 4 | Heavy, dazes target | Yes |
| Ferro-Mace | ★★★★★ | 60 + 30 Reflect | 6 | Reflect hits attacker | Never |
| Long Pipe | ★★★★ | 50 | 3 | — | Yes |
| Sweeper | ★★★★ | 30 | 5 | Faster Ether puddle cleaning | Yes |
| Plank | ★★ | 60 | 1 | One-shot potential, high risk | Yes |
| Knife | ★★★ | 40 | 3 | Fast swing | Yes |
| Small Pipe | ★★★ | 30 | 4 | Decent backup | Yes |
| Ruler | ★★ | 25 | 3 | Long reach, low damage | Yes |
| Black Knife | — | 25 | 4 | Never repair | Never |
Sledger (80 damage, daze, 4 uses) is the fight-column anchor. It wins the wandering engine and is the default swing on Manic Shermie. The daze gives you a window to reposition.
Ferro-Mace (60 damage, 30 Reflect, 6 uses) pairs with Spike Band for reflect builds. The moment it breaks you cannot fix it — budget your swings in the boss room. This is not a beginner buy.
Long Pipe (50 damage, 3 uses) is honest melee. It finishes quota jobs, keeps Manics off you, and does not pretend to be an S-tier toy. If you cannot find a Sledger, a Long Pipe is never wrong.
Sweeper (30 damage, 5 uses) is the utility pick. Having it equipped makes Ether puddle cleanup faster — this matters on Eclipse nights when puddles accumulate during the fight. Keep it in slot 2 or 3 on those runs even if the damage looks low.
Plank (60 damage, 1 use) is a high-risk gambling weapon. One swing, one kill or one wasted slot. Experienced players treat it as a finish tool, not a primary.
Knife (40 damage, 3 uses) is a fast reliable backup. It does not awe anyone but it does not fail either.
Black Knife (25 damage, 4 uses) says it in the description: crystalized Inkchor, poor weapon, CAN NEVER BE REPAIRED. Treat it as a last-resort slot. If it is your only weapon, prioritize finding a Scavenge box.
Ranged weapons
| Weapon | Rating | Damage | Ammo | Special | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Remmy | ★★★★ | 30×8 | 4 slugs | Shotgun spread | Best vs Eclipse |
| Popket | ★★★ | 60 | 2 rounds | Loud | Fight only |
| Sparket | ★★★ | 30 | 1 round | Flare, sets targets on fire | Teamkill risk |
Remmy (30×8, 4 slugs) is the Eclipse shotgun. Eight pellets times 30 damage means 240 potential damage per shot. That is what you bring to floor 30. See how to beat Eclipse for the full fight strategy. Remmy also handles Manic Carie’s pull and Manic Toasten’s plug.
Popket (60 damage, 2 rounds) is a loud commit button. It fires two rounds and prints Too noisy! across a wooden hallway. Bring it on named fight nights only. On a hide run, leave it in the bag.
Sparket (30 + Flare, 1 round) sets Recruits and Manics on fire. Note from the Miraheze wiki: “burning Recruits from YOUR flares are cosmetic. Manic Luckee’s flares will still burn you.” The flare also produces light, which can be useful in blackout rooms.
Shermie’s built-in ranged
Ball Gun (fixed to Shermie’s chassis, 10 rounds, ??? damage) — this is Shermie’s exclusive weapon. It fires small caliber rounds and cannot be dropped or swapped. It scales with Shermie’s melee multiplier and is always available during her Fire! ability.
Item notes that affect weapons
- Duct Tape (★★★, 2 charges) repairs weapons. It does not bring back a broken Ferro-Mace or Black Knife.
- Small Bullets load the Popket and the Ball Gun.
- Red Shells load the Remmy.
- Spark Shells load the Sparket.
Weapon selection by job
Zone 1–10 (learning): Knife or Small Pipe as backup, repair tool, Candle. You do not need ranged.
Mid zones (10–30): Long Pipe or Sweeper primary, Knife backup. Add Popket if the squad agreed to fight.
Eclipse fight (floor 30): Remmy in slot 1, Sweeper in slot 2 or 3 for Ether puddles, repair tool, med. No Popket.
Engine hunt: Sledger primary, Ferro-Mace as reflect backup if you can manage the no-repair rule. No ranged.
Deep zones (50+): Same as Eclipse but assume Manic Peanut, Carie, and Toasten are in every room. Remmy stays loaded.
What is not on this list
Bear Paw (Carie’s ability) has placeholder data on Miraheze. It is excluded until confirmed. The Miraheze entry reads “PLACEHOLDER INFO FOR CARIE’S BEARPAW. WILL ADD IN THE FUTURE.” We do not invent stats for placeholder content.
If a weapon name does not appear here, it has not been confirmed from an official source. Do not add a weapon because a Discord OC sheet listed it.
After a restart
Weapons in your bag stay. Weapons on the floor respawn with the zone. If the zone shop rotated and you do not see a repair tool, check the Scavenge boxes before you push the next quota. A missing weapon after a restart is a datastore issue — see known bugs.
Rank weapons for the session you queued. A quiet zone does not need a Popket. A loud zone does not need a Candle. Check the run checklist before you click the zone.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Isle of Dreams runs.
What is the best melee weapon?
Sledger for raw damage and daze. Ferro-Mace for reflect builds, but it can never be repaired.
Why is Ferro-Mace S-tier but unrepairable?
The 30 Reflect pairs with Spike Band for a strong counter-attack build. But when it breaks, it stays broken. Budget your swings.
What weapon should I bring to Eclipse?
Remmy shotgun (30×8, 4 slugs) is the standard Eclipse pick. Keep Sweeper in slot 2 for Ether puddles.
Is Popket ever worth using?
Only on named fight nights. It is loud and fires two rounds. On hide runs it belongs in the bag.
Can I repair Black Knife or Ferro-Mace?
No. Both say CAN NEVER BE REPAIRED in the item description. Treat them as consumables.
