Somni's Engine Tier Lists
Rankings by job: stay quiet, finish machines, or win the named fights.
Somni’s Engine does not have a frozen esports patch. It has an open beta, a lockbox of 1-star through 3-star perks, recruit-exclusive traits, and two honest kits: hide or fight. This hub is the index for those rankings. Named toons live on the Players Hub and the toon roster. Items and lockbox rolls live here.
If you want a first-hour pick, skip this page and open starter toons. Default buys after Beta are Loaffle or Magni. Tier lists are for people who already die to specific problems.
How we rank
Criteria, in order:
- Does it finish a machine quota? Extract, Repair, Scavenge, and Valves beat lobby fashion.
- Does it feed the noise widget? Loud power is a fight-tier bump and a stealth-tier penalty. Popket is the textbook example.
- Does it survive a notice banner? Relocate, stun, or heal beats raw damage if you cannot stand still.
- Is it beta-stable? Anything that bricks on restart drops until known bugs clears it.
We do not sell “S tier only” loadouts. A Sledger is S for engine hunts and a liability on a hide run. Read the column that matches the session you queued.
The two columns
Stealth column — walk speed (Stop Watch), stealth (Amethyst), quiet lights (Candle over Survival Lantern), Ear Muffs / Silent Gloves / Mittens, extra bag space. This is the default for how to hide and for Peanut box form.
Fight column — Sledger, Ferro-Mace, Remmy shotgun for Eclipse, med density, Metal Tag strength, Spike Band reflect. This is the default for the engine.
If your squad mixed columns, you will argue in a doorway. Pick one before Zone 1 using the run checklist.
Child lists
- Perks tier list — lockbox 1★–3★, recruit exclusives, intermission picks.
- Gear tier list — melee, ranged, armor, bags, lights, noise gear, D6.
Toon rankings live with the roster because a toon is a kit plus an ability, not a weapon. See toons and kit pages such as Luckee.
S–D snapshot (jobs, with named examples)
| Tier | Stealth job | Fight job |
|---|---|---|
| S | Amethyst, Machine Oil / Tool Kit, Ear Muffs | Sledger, Remmy vs Eclipse, on-hit heals |
| A | Stop Watch, Candle, Loaf Bag, Backpack | Ferro-Mace (no repair), Lid Shield, Etherite |
| B | Magnet scavenge, Lucky Clover, Durapack | Long Pipe, Knife, Popket if the squad agreed loud |
| C | Survival Lantern, Duffel (−2 speed) | Sparket on a recruit-filled squad (teamkill risk) |
| D | Auto-sprint toys, empty Popket | Black Knife you cannot repair, Armor Plate on a kite |
This table is a compass. The child pages explain numbers: Sledger 80 + daze, Remmy 30×8, Popket 60 with two loud rounds.
Why the list will move
The game launched into beta on 20 August 2026 and still restarts. A perk that is S today can be a bug. We would rather downgrade a toy than pretend the meta is frozen. Check the updates hub after patches, then come back here.
Do not pull Shermie or Eclipse on a first-hour hide kit because a graphic called them S. First-hour is Loaffle / Magni, Getting Started, and how to survive. Rankings you do not take into a zone are just wallpaper.
Use this hub as a fork: stealth list or fight list. Then go play. If last night’s wipe was noise, you needed the stealth column, not a Sledger montage.
