Guides Hub

This hub is the map of every Somni’s Engine tutorial on the wiki. The game is an open-beta Survival/Escape roguelike from Somni Foundation: procedurally generated rooms, recruits bought from shopkeeper Somni, more than a hundred perks, and a loud-or-quiet choice on every zone. Start with Getting Started if you have not cleared a machine quota yet. If the red banners already own you, skip ahead to how to hide.

The live HUD tells you what these pages must cover. Zone numbers climb. A machine counter (Zone 13 footage shows eight) sits at the top. A perk tray stacks on the right. Health and stamina live in the corner. A speaker widget yells Too noisy! when you sprint or fire a Popket, Remmy, or Sparket. Something Noticed You means stealth already failed. The guides below teach those systems instead of repeating lobby lore.

First-hour path

  1. Getting Started — lobby, Loaffle or Magni, first zone, what to ignore.
  2. Controls — WASD, stamina sprint, numbered hotbar, ability cooldown, mobile sticks.
  3. How to survive — Extract Ether, Repair pumps, Scavenge boxes, Valves, when to abort a room.
  4. How to hide — noise budget, Ear Muffs, Peanut box form, when guns are bait.

Redeem codes before that path so the Beta gift of 500 Prisms can buy Loaffle or Magni if the first kit feels wrong. The starter list is the spend guide. Luckee at 777 is a gamble, not a tutorial.

Boss, kit, and economy guides

The boss pages assume you can finish Extract / Repair / Scavenge / Valves without feeding the noise meter. If you cannot, stay on the first-hour path.

How these guides were written

Somni’s Engine launched into open beta on 20 August 2026. We use real recruit names — Loaffle, Magni, Luckee, Toasten, Peanut, Nara, Carie, Shermie — and real tool names from the HUD. Mechanics come from the official Roblox description, badges, group notes, and live captures: machine quotas, perk trays, Too noisy!, and Something Noticed You. Where a number is only confirmed in one zone (eight machines on Zone 13), the guide says so. When a patch changes a quota, the beta updates page is the correction log. Stuck machines and missing grants live on known bugs.

Inspiration is official: Hugo’s Asylum, Dolly’s Factory, and broader roguelikes. That is why machines, toon kits, and hide-or-fight all sit in one game. It is not a reason to copy those wikis’ names onto this one. Somni Foundation has no official Discord; official links lists the two Roblox URLs that actually belong to them.

Pair guides with the other hubs

  • Loadouts: perk tier list (Ear Muffs, Silent Gloves, Whisper Tea) and gear ranking (Sledger, Ferro-Mace, Remmy, Popket).
  • Roster: toons — prices from 500 (Loaffle, Magni) up to Shermie at 4300 plus Purple Hearted.
  • Pre-run sheet: run checklist.
  • Beta caveats: known bugs.

Read one guide per death cause. If the death was a Remmy echo, you need hide, not Eclipse. If the death was a missing Valve at 7/8, you need survive, not a new toon. The starter page is for after you can finish the quota only if the kit itself was the problem.

New tutorials only land here when they answer a search people already type: how to get Prisms, how to play the first zone, how to find a quiet kit, how to beat the engine. We will not pad this hub with duplicate boss pages.

How to use this hub after a death

Do not open three guides at once. Match the death:

That mapping is the point of a hub. Queue one page, then queue the next zone. The Isle of Dreams will hand you the same wipe until the matching tutorial is the boring one you already know by heart.
