What Somni's Engine actually is

Somni's Engine HUD showing machines 5 of 8, perks tray, Something Noticed You, and Too noisy

Somni's Engine is a Roblox Survival/Escape roguelike on the Isle of Dreams, built by Somni Foundation and still in open beta. You recruit toons from shopkeeper Somni, stack lockbox and intermission perks, and push procedurally generated zones while choosing whether to stay quiet or fight Manics. The loop mixes machine work — Extract, Repair, Scavenge, and Valves — with a noise meter that can flash **Too noisy!** or **Something Noticed You**. Claim the Beta code for 500 Prisms, then pick Loaffle or Magni from the toon roster. Hide-first players should open how to hide and the Peanut guide; gamblers can read how to play Luckee. Rank pickups on the perk tier list and gear ranking. Named bosses live on the wandering engine (Purple Hearted, needed for Shermie) and Project Eclipse on floor 30. There is no official Discord or Trello — see official links and community warnings before you join a lookalike group. Pair every ready-up with the run checklist, controls, and known bugs.

Quick start

Five steps that save a first-hour wipe on the Isle of Dreams.

  1. 1

    Redeem the Beta code

Open the in-game codes box and enter **Beta** for 500 Prisms — enough to recruit Loaffle or Magni. Full steps live on the codes hub and the redeem guide.

  2. 2

    Pick a forgiving recruit

Buy from shopkeeper Somni in the lobby. Loaffle (500) is the forgiving healer; Magni (500) crushes machines. Open Play Loaffle or Play Magni, then starter toons before you spend.

  3. 3

    Learn the noise meter

Sprinting, Popket shots, and loud actives trip **Too noisy!** and **Something Noticed You**. How to hide and Peanut's box form teach when to freeze.

  4. 4

    Finish Extract, Repair, Scavenge, Valves

Each zone has a machine quota (Zone 13 footage shows 8). Extract Ether, repair pumps, rummage boxes, and clear valves. Follow how to survive so you do not leave two machines for a panic finish.

  5. 5

    Plan the named bosses

Purple Hearted unlocks Shermie after the wandering engine. Project Eclipse (Moonie) on floor 30 is Witness Eclipse. Read engine, Eclipse, and deep zones before you greed a late floor. Manics are enemy Recruits, not shop kits.
