Somni's Engine How to Play Nara

The Observer - Scout and caller

How to Play Nara

Nara “The Observer” costs 2000 Prisms and is the most information-dense kit in Somni’s Engine. She does not fight well and she does not heal well. She sees better than anyone else, calls what is coming, and lets the rest of the squad decide. If you want a camera tool that lasts three minutes and a blind on big hits, Nara is the 2000-Prism answer.

Nara is not a starter purchase. At 2000 Prisms she belongs after Loaffle or Magni, after you understand Extract / Repair / Scavenge / Valves, and after the run checklist is boring. She is a support scout, not a carry.

Stats and role

Nara sits at HP 4, Stamina 3, Walk 2, Run 2, Stealth 3, Strength 3, Repair 2, Extract 5, Scavenge 2, Sight 6. That Sight 6 is the highest in the game. Extract 5 means she finishes Ether machines fastest. Run 2 and Walk 2 mean she never outpaces a sprinting Manic. Play Nara as a caller, not a charger.

Active abilities

MiniCam places a camera that lasts three minutes and detects enemies on line of sight. The camera is visible to the whole squad. It does not damage, but it tells you when a Manic enters a wing you have not reached yet.

Panic Flash blinds and deaggros an enemy that hits you for over 25 damage. The blind lasts five seconds. If a Manic Shermie charges your wing, one well-timed Panic Flash can reset the aggro and give the squad time to stack.

Camera Anatomy - Nara’s body rule

Nara narrates what she sees. Call zones clearly:

  • “Manic Toasten, east wing, not aggro yet.”
  • “Extract is north, two pumps, clear.”
  • “Something in the hallway, not called yet.”

That narration is Nara’s actual job. The camera extends her range. Panic Flash is the emergency reset, not the primary tool.

When to pick Nara

Pick Nara when the squad needs a scout. If two or more players are running hide and the group wants to know what is coming before it arrives, Nara earns her 2000 Prisms. She is weakest when the squad is already full of Toastens and Shermies who do not need a camera to tell them there is a fight in the next room.

Do not pick Nara if nobody listens to callouts. A camera that nobody watches is decoration. If the squad ignores the noise widget, they will ignore the MiniCam.

Pairing with the squad

Nara works best with Loaffle or Carie for sustain while Nara scouts, Magni who can finish machines fast while Nara calls the wing, and Peanut for a hide-first squad that wants early Manic intel. Avoid pairing Nara with another support who also does not fight. A squad of four Nara-equivalents is a squad with no damage.

What Nara does not do

She does not tank. HP 4 with Run 2 is not a frontliner. She does not heal. She does not machine-rush. She does not solo the wandering engine. She scouts, she calls, and she uses Panic Flash to survive a mistake — not to start a fight.

Farming for Nara

2000 Prisms is a significant farm after the Beta 500. Use how to farm Prisms to build the budget. Do not buy Nara with money you cannot afford to lose to a restart. The best time to buy Nara is when Loaffle or Magni can already clear a quota without you, and the squad needs better callouts.

FAQs

Is Nara good for beginners?

No. Nara costs 2000 Prisms and requires squad coordination to shine. Buy Loaffle or Magni first and learn the run checklist before investing in Nara.

What does MiniCam detect?

MiniCam detects enemies on line of sight within its range. It does not detect enemies behind walls. Place it strategically at wing entrances.

When should I use Panic Flash?

Use Panic Flash when an enemy deals over 25 damage to you. It blinds and deaggros the attacker for five seconds, giving your squad time to reposition.

Can Nara tank?

No. With HP 4 and Run 2, Nara is squishy and slow. She is a scout and caller, not a frontliner.

What is Nara’s best pairing?

Nara pairs well with Loaffle or Carie for sustain, and Magni for machine completion while she calls wing status.
